In July 2024, iQIYI officially announced the main cast for its upcoming mystery costume romance drama, “Fated Hearts (一笑随歌)”. The drama stars Li Qin, best known for “Joy of Life,” and Chen Zhe Yuan, recognized for “Hidden Love.” Initially, the pairing of Li Qin and Chen Zheyuan raised some eyebrows among fans. However, after seeing numerous behind-the-scenes photos and clips, anticipation for the drama has significantly surged.

Adapted from the novel “Yi Xiao” (一笑) by Chi Yi Qian Yu (炽翼千羽), the series tells the story of Fu Yixiao, a skilled red-dressed female archer (portrayed by Li Qin), and Feng Sui Ge, the eldest prince (played by Chen Zheyuan). The plot incorporates elements of war, romance, mystery, and power struggles. The relationship between Fu Yi Xiao and Feng Sui Ge transition from enemies to lovers.
From the video clips and new stills released so far, Li Qin and Chen Zhe Yuan’s on-screen chemistry looks quite promising. Full of sweetness and liveliness, both actors effectively embody strong and domineering personalities in the characters. Previously, Chen Zhe Yuan’s been seen mostly in sweet and cute boy roles, but here he will be transforming into a domineering and cool one. Similarly, for Li Qin, we’ve seen her in every kind of role from innocent and gentle Lin Wan Er in “Joy Of Life” to badass Mai Zai Xing in “The Wolf“. Fated Hearts will be another badass character to her repertoire.
Furthermore, recently leaked pictures from the filming set show Chen Zhe Yuan shirtless in a bath, his upper body covered in scars. Not only did he reveal his well-defined abs but also his sexy “mermaid line.” Many netizens were surprised, saying that although Chen Zhe Yuan looks gentle and refined on the outside, they didn’t expect his physique to be so well-trained, with comments like “He’s basically a walking hormone!”
